Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lineup Plan?
Lineup Plan is a free web app for youth baseball coaches. Build a batting order, assign defensive positions for each inning, track pitch counts with Little League rules built in, and print a clean game plan card before every game. No account or app download needed — just pick a team code.
Is Lineup Plan free?
Yes, completely free. No subscriptions, no ads, and no account required. If you find it useful, you can support the project on Ko-fi — but there's no obligation.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. You access your team with a short code you choose yourself — something like GIANTS25 or MVP2026. Use that code on any device to get back to your team instantly. Share it with assistant coaches so they can access the same lineup.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Lineup Plan works in any mobile browser on iPhone or Android — no app download required. You can also add it to your home screen as a Progressive Web App for quick one-tap access from the dugout.
Can I track pitch counts?
Yes. Lineup Plan has built-in pitch count tracking with official Little League rest day rules for ages 7–16. It shows the maximum pitch limit and required rest days for each pitcher automatically. You can also toggle the rules off for leagues that don't use them.
Can I print a lineup card?
Yes. Lineup Plan generates a printable game plan that includes the inning-by-inning position grid, field diagrams with every player's name at their position, pitching rotation, pitch count targets, and a pitch count rules cheatsheet. Print it and hand copies to your scorekeeper and coaches before every game.
Can multiple coaches access the same team?
Yes. Share your team code with assistant coaches and they can access the same lineup on their own devices. Everyone sees the same game plan in real time.
How do I share the lineup with parents?
Lineup Plan has a read-only share link. Tap the Share button to copy a link — parents and other coaches can view the current lineup without being able to edit anything.
Does Lineup Plan save automatically?
Yes. Your lineup saves automatically as you build it and syncs instantly across all devices. There is nothing to manually save or export — just close the tab and pick up exactly where you left off.
What Little League pitch count rules are built in?
Lineup Plan includes the official Little League pitch count limits and mandatory rest day requirements for ages 7–8 (50 pitch max), 9–10 (75), 11–12 (85), and 13–16 (95). It also tracks catcher eligibility — if a player catches more than 3 innings they cannot pitch that day.
