Lineup Plan (lineupplan.com) is a free lineup and game-planning app for youth baseball coaches. It is built and run by Alex Shibata, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. It is written for the adult coaches who use the app and for the parents of the players on their rosters.
When you create and use a team, the app saves what you enter on our server so it opens on any device:
Only enter what you need to plan a game. A first name and last initial is fine. Please don’t put medical details, phone numbers, addresses, birthdates or photos anywhere in the app, including in notes.
You can add your email address to your team when you create it, or later in Setup › Team Backup Email. We use it to help you recover your team code and for support. We may also use it to tell you about something important that affects your team, such as a security problem, a change to this policy or the Terms, or a planned shutdown. The app never shows a saved address, so others who open your team can’t see it. You can replace or remove it in Setup › Team Backup Email.
Separately, you can tick “Email me a reminder before next season (optional).” The box starts unchecked. If you tick it, we record that you opted in and when, and we’ll send a short reminder before the next season. It is only about Lineup Plan, and every reminder has an unsubscribe link. To stop reminders, untick the box in Setup › Team Backup Email, use the unsubscribe link, or email us. Your choice goes with the address you gave it for: if that address is changed or removed, reminders stop until the box is ticked again with the new one.
Email addresses we received before the reminder option existed are used only for support, code recovery and important notices, never for reminders.
Basic request information. Like every website, when your browser loads a page or saves a change, our hosting providers receive your IP address, browser type and the address requested. They use it to deliver the page and keep the service secure, and keep short-lived technical logs.
Protection against guessing. To stop people from guessing team codes, creating teams in bulk or guessing the admin password, our server counts recent requests from each network (IP) address. It stores only a scrambled (hashed) form of the address, never the address itself, uses the counts for nothing else, and deletes them automatically, usually within about a day.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, which sites send visitors to us, and general device, browser and country information. It uses no cookies, doesn’t fingerprint visitors, doesn’t store IP addresses and doesn’t record the part of a link that holds your team code. We only see totals.
Error reports. The app loads a small error-monitoring script from Sentry on every visit, so, as with Google Fonts, Sentry receives your IP address and browser information when the app opens. When something goes wrong in the app, it sends an error report to Sentry: the error message, your browser and operating system, the app’s last few steps before the error, and the page address with the team code removed. Sentry is set not to store IP addresses. We use these reports only to find and fix bugs.
On your device. The app saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so it opens the way you left it: your current team code and up to five recent team codes with their team names (so the app can reopen your team), your print preferences, which of your teams (by team code) shouldn’t show the reminder to add a backup email again and, if a change hasn’t reached our server yet or clashed with a change made on another device, a temporary copy of it. That copy is deleted once it’s saved or you re-apply or discard it, and the app clears any copy older than 30 days when it opens. This stays on your device. Anyone who uses the same browser can reopen those teams, so on a shared computer clear this site’s data in your browser settings when you’re done.
Cookies. The app doesn’t set cookies, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots.
We don’t use your information for anything else without asking you first.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don’t track you across sites, so we don’t respond differently to Do-Not-Track signals. Global Privacy Control signals are honored automatically, because we never sell or share personal information.
Lineup Plan has no accounts or passwords. Your team is protected only by its team code. Anyone who has the code, or a share link that contains it, can view your roster and lineups, and because today’s share link contains the code, they can also change them. Share your code and links only with your coaching staff and your team’s families. If you think your code has gotten out, email us and we’ll help.
We can access team data when it’s needed to run, fix or support the service. We don’t show it to anyone else except as described in this policy.
A few companies help us run Lineup Plan. They handle information on our behalf to provide their service:
Supabase: database and server functions. Your team data is stored in Supabase’s database in the United States. Privacy policy →
Cloudflare: hosts the website and delivers it quickly and securely, provides our cookie-free Web Analytics, forwards email sent to info@lineupplan.com, and stores our backups. Privacy policy →
Sentry: error monitoring. The app loads Sentry’s script on every visit, so Sentry receives your IP address and browser information when the app opens. Error reports have team codes removed. Privacy policy →
Google Fonts: the app’s fonts load from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when a page loads. Privacy policy →
cdnjs: a public code library service run by Cloudflare. It delivers the tool the app uses to make PDFs, so it receives the same basic request information. Privacy policy →
Ko-fi: only if you click a Ko-fi link to support the project. Ko-fi handles your donation under its own privacy policy, and we see only what Ko-fi shares with creators, such as the name and message you choose to leave and, in some cases, your email address. Privacy policy →
Gmail: email you send to info@lineupplan.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail account, where we read and answer it, so Google receives and stores those messages. If we start sending email through an email delivery service (for code recovery or season reminders), we’ll name it here before we use it. Privacy policy →
We may also disclose information if the law requires it (for example, a valid court order), to protect the safety of a child or anyone else, or to protect the service from fraud or abuse. If Lineup Plan is ever transferred to a new operator (for example, a company formed to run it), your information would move with it and stay covered by this policy, and we would post a notice here first.
Team data is stored in Supabase’s database in the United States. Our daily backups are kept in private Cloudflare R2 storage in North America. Cloudflare serves the site from data centers around the world, close to you. Sentry processes error reports in the United States. If you use Lineup Plan from outside the US, your information is transferred to and processed in the US.
No system is perfectly secure, and a team code is only as private as the people you share it with. If we learn of a security breach that affects your information, we’ll tell affected coaches by email (where we have one) and post a notice on this site, as the law requires.
Lineup Plan is for adult coaches. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not create teams or enter information. Players’ information is entered by their coach. Coaches should enter only what’s needed to plan games (a first name and last initial is fine) and should not enter contact details, birthdates, photos or medical details. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information directly, we’ll delete it.
Parents and guardians: you can ask to see or delete your child’s information. Email info@lineupplan.com with your child’s first name, the team name and the league (and the team code if you have it). We’ll find the player, may check with the coach, remove your child’s information from the team, and let the coach know a player was removed at a parent’s request without sharing your contact details. We’ll respond within 30 days.
See and change: everything a coach entered is in the app and can be edited at any time, except the saved email address, which the app doesn’t show. You can replace or remove it in Setup › Team Backup Email, or email us to ask what we have.
Remove a player or game: remove the player from the roster in Setup, or delete the game in the app. Removing a player deletes their name, number and age from the team; saved games keep only a “removed player” placeholder. Game-day guests are saved with each game, and names typed into game notes stay until you edit them. Teams started with an early version of the app can also hold an older copy of the roster, so to remove a player completely, email us and we’ll do it.
Delete a whole team: email info@lineupplan.com from the email address saved with the team and include the team code. If no email is on file, we’ll ask for details only the head coach would know, because parents also have the code through share links. We’ll delete the team and all its games within 30 days and confirm by email. Backup copies are pruned within about 60 days after that, and never stay more than 90 days.
Email: to stop reminders, untick the box in Setup › Team Backup Email, use the unsubscribe link in any reminder, or email us. To change or remove your email address, use Setup › Team Backup Email (“Remove the saved email”) or email us.
On your device: clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove saved team codes and preferences.
US state privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you and get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, targeted advertising and profiling (we don’t do any of these), and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Some of these laws may not apply to a small free project like Lineup Plan, but we honor these requests from everyone, wherever they live.
To make a request, email info@lineupplan.com. We’ll confirm it’s you (for coaches, from the email saved with the team or with details only the coach would know) and respond within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they can act for you. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “Appeal”, and we’ll respond within 45 days. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
California: we don’t disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
We’ll post any update on this page with a new effective date. If we make a material change, such as using information in a new way, we’ll announce it on the site (and email coaches who gave us an email address) before it takes effect. We won’t use information we already have in a materially different way without your consent.
